Village Panchayat #Carmona has decided to issue show cause notices to the house owners who release sewage/dirty waters into nullahs




Margao: Village Panchayat Carmona has decided to issue show cause notices to the house owners who release #sewage/dirty waters into #nullahs and drains violating the provisions of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act and the Health Act.

At a meeting, the Carmona Panchayat informed that they have come across instances whereby house owners deliberately have open pig type #toilets releasing into the nullahs and also releasing  #dirtywater.

“We have inspected sites along with the Health Department officials and action will be initiated by both as per relevant provisions of the Panchayat Raj Act and the Health Act under which the electricity and water connections can be disconnected for violation,” said Sarpanch of Carmona Allwyn George.

“The panchayat will go even to the extent of withdrawing the occupancy certificates of these houses for the violations. Plugging of all the openings will also be considered. This issue is serious as Goa has been declared open defecation free (ODF),” said Carmona Sarpanch.
