Know your Water.
KNOW YOUR WATER
|
Water is the most common liquid on Earth. It covers about 71.4% of the Earth. Pure water has no smell, taste, or colour. Water and life are closely linked. It is required for life to start and for life to continue. No other liquid can replace water. If there was no water there would be no life on Planet Earth. Water is necessary for life. Water IS Life.
Less than 1% of all the water on Earth can be used by people. The rest is salt water ( the kind you find in the oceans) or is permanently frozen (as in the poles and mountain tops) and we cannot use.
“ HIDDEN” FACTS ABOUT WATER
|
70 percent of the world’s fresh water is used for agriculture. That means that everything we eat impacts the water supply. Interestingly, nearly every manufacturing process also uses water. So does construction activity. Water lies hidden in everything we use.
1. It takes about 140 liters of water to grow the coffee beans and process them to make one cup of coffee.
2. About 25,000 liters of water is required to grow a day’s food for a family of four.
3. It takes 200 liters of water to produce one glass of pasteurized milk.
4. It takes more than 40 liters of water to produce one slice of wheat bread. if you eat the bread with a slice of cheese then you add another 50 liters.
5. Brushing your teeth takes around 8 liters of water
6. A five minute shower can use 150 liters of water
7. Leaky taps and faucets account for waste up to 200 liters of water a day per household.
8. Every square foot of construction requires about 1400 liters of fresh water.
SO, EVERY DROP COUNTS.

As the world population grows and our needs increase, more and more people are using up this limited resource. Therefore, it is important that we use our water wisely and not waste it. But, we have not been wise. And the crisis is now upon us. Cape Town in South Africa has drinking water reserves for only 2 more months. Our own Garden city of Bengaluru is predicted to be the second city in the world to run out of water.... Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai are all set to follow.
We have to seriously consider treating our waste water, purifying it, recycling and re-using it if our future generations are to survive on Planet Earth.
ECOHEALTH – USING NATURE’S FORMULA FOR RECYCLING WASTE WATER
|
Ancient Indians knew the importance of water. They had developed an efficient network of waterways that could manage the available water resources admirably. They had also compiled well- researched literature of herbal extracts that could be used for treating, recycling and re-using waste water. But the reckless pace of development changed all that. Today, a fresh water crisis looms over India, just as elsewhere in the world.
ECOHEALTH has dipped into this rich literary trove of ancient India to unearth some of the time-tested formulations (mostly herbal) and present them in a format that is suited for the modern times and needs. Please visit below website & YouTube channel for more details.
